Leila Shahbazi, DMD, is a general and cosmetic dentist, serving patients at Pure Smiles, located in Scottsdale, AZ. Dr. Shahbazi grew up in Scottsdale, AZ and decided to stay close to home for college and attend Arizona State University, where she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology. After finishing her undergraduate studies, she pursued her dream to become a dentist by attending the Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health in Mesa, AZ. She got her education through the Holistic Dental Association after graduation. She focused on practicing Holistically to make a difference. While in dental school, Dr. Shahbazi learned about the medical and dental challenges our under-served communities face and decided to participate in a dual-degree program, where she also received a Master’s degree in Public Health, along with a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree.
During her extensive exposure to the public health system and mission trips serving underprivileged patient populations, her compassion for her work grew deeper. While working with under-served patients, Dr. Shahbazi realized the importance of practicing dentistry in a holistic manner. She has dedicated her heart, skills, and knowledge to provide the best and most comfortable oral health care for all patients in the most welcoming and pleasant environment. Dr. Shahbazi aims to create long-lasting relationships with her patients, believing they are her second family, and they should all be treated in such a way.
Dr. Shahbazi met her soulmate on the dance floor, where they fell in love. They married three years later, and have been raising their fur-baby, Daisy, ever since. Dr. Shahbazi is a volunteer at the Arizona Humane Society where she fosters animals in need of a temporary home or those in recovery. She loves to travel internationally and likes to talk about visiting twenty countries in less than two years. Dr. Shahbazi also enjoys an active lifestyle and loves outdoor activities such as diving, hiking, and camping.
